April 21, 2008
And The Wildlife strikes again! April 21 2008 was a day Brian Benson has been waiting for. At 6:45 in the morning Brian bagged his first turkey ever…and he did it with a bow! With fellow hunter Dick Hall and cameraman Matt Williams in the Double Bull blind with him, the first 3 birds of the day walked in front of the blind and it took Brian all of about 2 seconds to decide now was the time.
His Fred Bear Truth 2 slammed a Muzzy 75 through the turkey at 10 yards.
But the story doesn’t end there; after watching a handful of other turkeys pound on the harvested bird for about 20 minutes, a double bearded bird comes into view and it was now Dick Hall’s turn.
Dick had three arrows in his quiver and unfortunatelythe first2 missed the mark so he had one last chance. That last chance was all he needed. Dick buried his arrow in the double bearded bird at fifteen yards for a great ending to an unforgettable day. Both birds ended up around the 15 to 17 pound range making Brian and Dick very happy hunters. Let’s hope the good luck continues!

What a great start to the 2008 Ohio turkey season! The Wildlife’s Brian Benson filmed youth hunter Tyler Gore bag his very first turkey and it turned out to be a fantastic longbeard.
Alongside his brother Travis and friend Ron Schriner, Tyler had two big Toms approach him double and triple gobbling and when they got to 15 yards he delivered a shotgun blast he will never forget.
When it was all said and done the bird weighed in at 17 pounds with a 9 inch beard.
Congratulations Tyler on an unforgettable first turkey!

Another Licking County Ohio monster goes down! George Lacknett harvested this non-typical buck with his muzzleloader and was shocked in more ways than one. The deer’s rack alone is enough make a hunter shake in their boots but upon field dressing the buck George found something that surprised him even more.
During the field dressing he found an arrowabout ten inches long with the broadhead intact lodged inside the chest cavity of the animal! There were no visible wounds on the deer to indicate how, when or where the arrow got there but it was completely submerged next to the heart and lungs area. So an arrow already inside the deer, and it took more than one shot from George’s muzzloader to take him down. Now that’s one tough buck!!

2007 has turned into the year of the non-typicals! During a deer drive, Travis Gore spotted a great buck on the last day of our week long gun season and definitely couldn’t pass him up. This bruiser gave Travis the shot he needed and to make a long story short, will end up on Travis’ wall. He has a great deal of character and mass to say the least. Not to mention that typical Ohio body that will more than fill a freezer! Congratulations Travis!

This was Chuck Williams' first buck with a bow and the biggest buck he has killed to date!
The deer was harvested in Highland county, Ohio.
Congratulation on a great buck!

The month of October gets every deer hunter’s blood pumping and when Bob Lott and Nick Lieb are in the woods you know its go time! Bob harvested this fantastic Fairfield County buck with his compound bow with Nick behind the camera. Bob and Nick have been great friends and hunting partners for a long time with many success stories under their belts. Our hats off to Bob on another great wall hanger!

October 27, 2007 will go down as another great day in Nick Lieb’s hunting career. Nick harvested a fine Ohio Whitetail with Doug Betchie as his camera man and they had a hunt they will never forget. Nick called the buck in a few different times before he got the angle he wanted. After many intense minutes of waiting Nick put the fatal shot on him on his second attempt with the Lumenok glowing as bright as could be. Great job guys!!

Another first for The Wildlife! Nick Lieb’s oldest son Andrew harvested his first deer ever with his Horton crossbow and it’s a great buck! This deer has a tremendous amount of non-typical character as both sides of his antlers has a wide range of size and features. Nick captured all of the action on film and now has a video memory of this great Father and Son moment. Congratulations Andrew, it looks like you will be making a trip to Dan Jennings Taxidermy for your first trophy!
September, 2007
Nick Lieb traveled to Wyoming for a Mule deer hunt with our friends from Big Horn Outdoors in September and it resulted in a great hunt captured on film. Nick harvested his Mule deer over a two day experience. The initial shot which took place on the first day did not leave a great blood trail so they elected to leave the deer to bed down overnight. They picked up the trail on the second day and jumped the deer from his bedding area and Nick put the finishing shot on him. Congratulations to Nick on not only a great hunt but getting through a sleepless night of waiting until the next day to finish the hunt!!
August, 2007
The annual bear hunting trip to Hunters Point Guide Service in the scenic state of Maine took place in August of 2007. A special thanks goes out to Eldon Jandreau who owns and operates the business, we had a great time and we’ll definitely be back next year! April 30, 2007
Dan Jennings 2007 turkey season ended with a great on camera kill filmed by Matt Williams on April 30. Dan harvested this bird in Muskingum County Ohio with his 12 gauge Mossberg at 25 yards. Dan’s turkey hunting is just as professional as his taxidermy, second to none! Congratulations Dan on a great hunt. Don’t forget to contact Dan Jennings Taxidermy in Zanesville Ohio to bring your trophies to life!
