Wow, what a great season we are having! Cameraman Doug Betchie taped Jeff Carroll harvesting his first on-camera buck! After missing a buck earlier in the year Jeff got the job done. What a geat shot on your first 8-point buck.
Congratulations on an awesome hunt.
Friend of The Wildlife Kevin Savely harvested another great whitetail to add to his collection of trophies. Kevin bagged this buck with his bow earlier this season proving yet again he can get the job done!
Congratulations Kevin on a beautiful buck!
More success for The Wildlife! Mike Workman and Art Ford filled their buck tags this year in fine fashion. Two great deer for two great hunters, congratulations to both of them on a fantastic season!
Check out Mike's buck
The Wildlife archery season continues! Here are some pictures of our friends with whitetail memories they will never forget.
Congratulations and thank you to all of them for going out of their way to share their experiences with The Wildlife!
How about a double shot of Wildlife! That’s right; the boys pulled a double on November 3rd and couldn’t be happier. Brian Benson and Nick Lieb were hunting in two different locations in Licking County and both harvested bucks on what turned out to be a fantastic morning. Brian shot his buck after a rattling sequence which brought the deer in to 12 yards!
Once the buck got that close The Fred Bear Truth 2 took over and put an end to him. Nick’s buck came in so quick he didn’t even have time to set up his camera! He was just beginning to get his gearsituated and saw the buck, once he got a good look; it was time to make the buck bleed! Nick also bagged his deer with The Fred Bear Truth 2. What an unforgettable morning for both hunters. Great job guys!
Matt Williams is the first to strike gold for The Wildlife’s 2008 archery season! Matt arrowed this nice buck with Doug Betchie behind the camera when they saw not only one but three bucks. By the time this guy came into range, it was too late, Matt’s Fred Bear Game Over was already aiming right on him. One shot and the Muzzy broadhead did the rest. Congratulations to Matt on a great deer!
The Wildlife’s annual black bear hunting trip to Hunters Point Guide Service was a success yet again! The guys packed up and headed off to meet with owner and good friend Eldon Jandreau for another exciting experience in the beautiful state of Maine. The accommodations were fantastic as usual, a great cabin, active bear sites, and a great deal of help and knowledge from The Hunters Point Guide Service staff. Travis Gore was the first to hit pay dirt when his arrow found its mark on a beautiful black bear.Travis’ story gets even better though; not only was it his first bear ever, it was his birthday! What a great birthday gift for Travis! The very next night it was Brian Benson’s turn to hunt and the success continued.Brian arrowed his very first bear ever as well. Brian’s Fred Bear Truth 2 made it two bears in two nights for The Wildlife team. What a great experience for Travis and Brian, congratulations to them both. The Wildlife is three for three as far as successful years at Hunters Point Guide Service, can’t wait till’ next year!
If you would like information about bear or moose hunting with Hunters Point Guide Service please don’t hesitate to look them up via The Wildlife’s links page or just shoot The Wildlife an e mail, you will be glad you did!
And The Wildlife strikes again! April 21 2008 was a day Brian Benson has been waiting for. At 6:45 in the morning Brian bagged his first turkey ever…and he did it with a bow! With fellow hunter Dick Hall and cameraman Matt Williams in the Double Bull blind with him, the first 3 birds of the day walked in front of the blind and it took Brian all of about 2 seconds to decide now was the time.
His Fred Bear Truth 2 slammed a Muzzy 75 through the turkey at 10 yards.
But the story doesn’t end there; after watching a handful of other turkeys pound on the harvested bird for about 20 minutes, a double bearded bird comes into view and it was now Dick Hall’s turn.
Dick had three arrows in his quiver and unfortunatelythe first2 missed the mark so he had one last chance. That last chance was all he needed. Dick buried his arrow in the double bearded bird at fifteen yards for a great ending to an unforgettable day. Both birds ended up around the 15 to 17 pound range making Brian and Dick very happy hunters. Let’s hope the good luck continues!
What a great start to the 2008 Ohio turkey season! The Wildlife’s Brian Benson filmed youth hunter Tyler Gore bag his very first turkey and it turned out to be a fantastic longbeard.
Alongside his brother Travis and friend Ron Schriner, Tyler had two big Toms approach him double and triple gobbling and when they got to 15 yards he delivered a shotgun blast he will never forget. When it was all said and done the bird weighed in at 17 pounds with a 9 inch beard.
Congratulations Tyler on an unforgettable first turkey!
